The anti-portfolio at Bessemer Venture Partners is an example of applying the open communication approach.  Talk about your differentiator.  You get an instant feel for their own comfort level — hey, we’ve been around a while, working at this.  We’ve made mistakes.  We invested in some silly things.   We missed out on some great companies.  It happens.

Fred Wilson, over at A VC blog, does a similar thing.  Through his thorough explanations of why his team invests in certain companies, to his running feature ‘VC Cliche of the Week’, he demystifies the process and shows you, plainly, his approach.

The result?  Trust.  I know I want to hear more from these folks.  They go in my subscribed feed list.
