LazyWeb Ad Vetting

Wwad
Sure, it’s loopy: a print ad for a social media company. True dat, but we have a free B&W print ad as part of a speaking gig, so we’re asking for your feedback. Is this any good for the curiosity of media planners, marketers, agency types?
Do tell.

The headline doesn’t match the paragraph. Either tweak the headline (Who’s the Matter?) to match the paragraph (Your customers matter. Social media helps you connect directly with them. Blogs…)

Or tweak the paragraph (Enough with the buckshot approach. Get your message delivered to your target audience likkety-split fast using social media. Blogs…) to match the headline (Get Small Fast.)

Just some quick (and small?) thoughts.

  3. I’m a web marketing manager, and have a light background in UI design for 4 years.

1 Perhaps lower the Get Small Fast, so that it’s more 50% down the page. The balance is almost there.

2 shouldn’t it be “social media helpS you” (missing an “S”)

3 I do enjoy the simple clean design, it’s really catching, honestly I was captivated for a while.

4 My eye was ‘over’ drawn to the “you” and “us” you may want to de-emphasize that by greying it.

5 something about the “Blog” being capitalized throws off my eye.

6 nice font selection and use of ‘blackspace’

it’s close to getting there, I’d love to see the final product

(Heh, I’m glad to see Mike above me, we communicate frequently, interesting how birds flock together…small world )

  5. Thoughts:
    1. I happen to notice that the area inside of the dialogue box (part of the weblogswork icon) is showing grey instead of black (this was an error I created I think). Also, it is slightly too big – reduce it by 10% or so.
    2. The URL should be the same width as the words ‘weblogswork’ and should not include the ‘www’ instead it should read weblogswork.com.
    - Josh did nice work on this. Good use of your meme…

I’ll echo Jeremiah’s desire to see the final – and let us know about the gig – I’ll be happy to point it out.

Is there a calendar of Blog/Feed/Social Media events out there somewhere?

Sorry to get off topic, but I’m also seeking a calendar of such. If anyone finds such calendar (maybe it’s a wiki) lemme know.

Love the headline. However, I think the copy should explain a bit more, depending on how specialized the public on you gig is, actually.

  13. Sounds like a social project. Maybe a wiki or public 30 boxes feed.
