ShopSavvy Beta 3.0.4 Available
For those of you who are brave we have released ShopSavvy Beta 3.0.4. This release resolves a number of problems/bugs/issues our users have uncovered. Sign-up here (again, the Beta is not for novice users):

The main problem this version fixes is the wishlist overload issue. We had NO idea users would add more than 100 items to a wishlist. We assumed 5-10-15 items at most and as a result we never tested how the application would behave if you added more than 100. Now, you can add as many items as you like (well at least 120 items – we didn’t test over that number). Good luck.
When will ShopSavvy be available for Symbian handsets like my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic or N96?
Hello,
I downloaded the 3.04 betta version. It seems that everytime that I scan something, the screen goes black aqns stays that way for like 5 or 6 seconds and then it starts searching for the item that I scan, but sometime it stays on the blackscreen and foreclose on me. It does not matter what I scan. This the only issue I have been having on the application at this time.
Note/ I have scan for an update on the application and it seems that version 3.05 is out. Can I get this update sent out to me at 305-479-8698. Thank you and hope to hear frome shopsavvy.
I don’t understand why you don’t want to release shopsavvy for symbian when you mentioned earlier that symbian has about 60% of the mobile os marketshare. It seems to me you should be servicing your largest demographic. Is there some reason for this? Political or other?
Are you making efforts to have the scanning functionality in symbian or should we just move on? I have a 5800 and not ready to buy android just for a new app.
Symbian is too hard to target. We won’t be spending any time on it any time soon. Sorry about that.
Scanning with Symbian shouldn’t be too difficult, see http://www.barcoo.de/ (site in German). With barcoo you can (mainly) scan food products and get its nutrition. Would love to see shopsavvy on Symbian mobile phones. I agree with cofinut that I am not willing to buy a new phone just for one new app. P.S. I have a Nokia 5800.
Working on a deal to get ShopSavvy on all Nokia Symbian phones.
I understand about not wanting to waste time on development but what about creating the best app for the best most used device if 60% is really true it seems shortsighted not to develop for Symbian. I say this with having just sold my HTC Ozone to buy a Nokia e63.
Easier said than done. Without cooperation from the carrier/manufacturer one cannot play on Symbian phones. Ironically, we executed a deal with Nokia in December to get ShopSavvy preloaded on almost all Nokia smartphones. Should be live sometime in January.
> “Symbian, as an operating system, cannot support our scanning functionality. It is too lightweight”
This doesn’t quite sound right.
There are other scanning applications on Symbian. I regularly scan QR codes with a 3rd party app on my S60v3 Nokia. I don’t see ShopSavvy doing anything that is to technically heavy for a relatively modern Symbian device.
QR Codes are simple. 1D are a little harder. We might have a solution, but it won’t be available until next quarter at the soonest.
I don’t think we are going to release on Symbian anytime soon. Android, iPhone, RIM and WM6/7 are our current target devices.
Symbian, as an operating system, cannot support our scanning functionality. It is too lightweight. We believe that Android is a good replacement for symbian.
