How to install ShopSavvy

Many new users to the G1 (and smart phones in general) are unfamiliar with the Android Market.  The Market is the place where you will find applications like ShopSavvy for your Google phone.  I recorded a short/blurry video to help explain how to install ShopSavvy (or any application for that matter):

you know, for a guy with a computer science degree, I find it crazy that the android market and apps install world was left undiscovered for almost a month of my owning this device! Why didn’t anyone tell me about this bad ass feature of this amazing device! This video changed my life. Thanks for assuming not everyone knows the obvious. You rock. -Joshua

I just bought the G1 phone and Shop Savvy was the first app I wanted to download. It doesn’t show up in search or in the shopping category of the android market. What’s going on?

I have only had my g1 for about a week. I checked my firmware version and it says version 1.0. I’m thinking us new owners missed out on android 1.1 and will have to wait for 1.5 this/next week for everything to work correctly as I have noticed that some of the other most popular apps don’t show up in the market either.

That is strange, we have lots of unlocked phones and they ALL can use the market. I think you may have another issue.
