How to get more local retailers in ShopSavvy

This afternoon I received an email from Robert in Oahu, Hawaii who asked if we could get more local retailers for his island. Robert’s request isn’t unusual, in fact it is very common. Despite having more than 40,000 retailers in our system there are millions of stores we have never heard of, especially in Oahu. So how do we get more retailers in our system? Simple, we listen to users. You may have noticed that you can ‘EDIT’ or add local retailers in ShopSavvy (see picture). By adding a new local retailer and adding a price for an item you are actually alerting our team that their is demand for that retailer in our system. We take all of these ‘referrals’ and the most requested retailers get on the top of our list to add.

Once our retail data team gets enough referrals from users they begin calling on the retailer to determine how best to get their inventory and pricing in our system. Some retailers just won’t give access to their inventory and pricing, but many will. If there is a retailer you want to see in our system take a few minutes and add them to our system. Just visit their store and begin scanning items – add the retailer and the price if it is missing. The more you add the more attention they will get in our system. If a few other users add items from that retailer it stands a good chance that we will start working on it. So help us out and let us know what you want us to work on…

What if I work for a company and wanted to see about adding our pricing info to the products we sell?
