A ShopSavvy Revamp for iOS Mobile Devices

An all-new version of our mobile shopping app was launched today on both iPhone and iPad. New features include redesigned navigation, easier list creation and an overall improved look and feel, as well as enhanced exploratory features to find top products within the ShopSavvy community.

The update gives users a “red carpet experience” by taking them through each of the new features step-by-step. We’ve of course retained ShopSavvy’s core value of helping people save money, but with this redesign we’re entering into the larger product discovery space.

Through this iOS update, iPhone and iPad users can take advantage of ShopSavvy’s many new features, including:

• Categories that give users the ability to see the top trending products within the ShopSavvy community, including books, movies, electronics, video games and more
• Cleaner and simpler navigation that provides easier list viewing, product scanning and searching, history viewing and user profile access
• Larger, more prominent and higher-resolution product images to make browsing even easier
• Improved product and category lists through a user experience enhancement that allows shoppers to easily create, view and update lists by swiping from screen-to-screen and dragging and dropping products into the lists.

We’re dedicated to continually improving the mobile experience for shoppers and helping businesses of all kinds bridge the gap between themselves and their target audiences in new and innovative ways. Let us know what you think of the updated app!

Celebrating the Success of Capital One Deals

mobile shopping deals through ShopSavvy and Capital OneShopSavvy and Capital One have been partners in an innovative approach to mobile shopping, and it’s time to celebrate. Capital One Deals has surpassed the expectations of both companies.

The initiative gave holders of Capital One Rewards cards $20 on purchases of $40 or more when they used ShopSavvy Wallet. Capital One Deals introduced shoppers to brands during the shopping experience, which made it unique in the credit card industry. Capital One was also first among financial services institutions to launch an application programming initiative to allow for more robust partnerships with products and platforms.

Powering the initiative was ShopSavvy Wallet, which allows users to make mobile purchases with just one tap from dozens of major retailers including Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, Toys ‘R’ Us, JC Penney and Home Depot. ShopSavvy Wallet users who scan an item in a store and see a better deal online can purchase it immediately without ever leaving ShopSavvy.

We’re grateful to Capital One, and especially to Capital One Labs, the digital innovation laboratory of Capital One led by Managing Vice President Mark Jamison. We look forward to more partnerships that bring customers and brands closer using the power of mobile technology.

ShopSavvy, Capital One Team Up on Capital One Deals

ShopSavvy and Capital One teamed up to reward Capital One cardholders with cash when they make qualifying purchases using ShopSavvy Wallet. Capital One Deals gives holders of Capital One Rewards cards $20 on purchases of $40 or more when they use our Wallet.

It starts when Capital One Rewards Card members use ShopSavvy to search for an item in a store. That’s when they are notified of Deals on that item. To be eligible, cardholders set up ShopSavvy Wallet. Then they simply tap the blue price tag button, purchase the product, and automatically receive their savings in the form of a credit on their next statement.

ShopSavvy Wallet allows users to make mobile purchases with just one tap from dozens of major retailers including Walmart, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, Toys ‘R’ Us, JC Penney and Home Depot. ShopSavvy Wallet users who scan an item in a store and see a better deal online can purchase it immediately without ever leaving ShopSavvy. Unlike other online shopping systems, ShopSavvy’s neutral search results enable consumers to compare prices from a wide range of retailers.

Capital One Deals introduces shoppers to brands at a most pivotal point: during the shopping experience. That makes this initiative unique in the credit card industry. Capital One is also first among financial services institutions to launch an application programming initiative to allow for more robust partnerships with products and platforms.

We’re very excited about this venture because of its potential to improve the shopping experiences of users with highly targeted offers relevant to their shopping preferences. We are convinced that this kind of targeted outreach will be an increasingly vital element of retailing in the future; and we’re pleased to taking this step forward with a company like Capital One.

The Latest on ShopSavvy 6: A New Product Page on iPhone

One of the most significant changes we’ve ever made to our shopping platform went live today with the launch of ShopSavvy’s new product page on iPhone.

This release provides additional product information, local store listings and photos our customers have been asking for, along with videos. It’s all simple and easy to use. We’re confident that these changes combined with the just-completed improvements to the back end of our system make ShopSavvy the best source for local and online results and product data.

You’ll notice that many products already have massive amounts of new information, and in the coming weeks and months, we will be extending this content across more and more products and categories. You won’t be able to get anything like it anywhere else – and it’s always just a finger tap away. You can download the new release here, and see some screenshots below.

I’d like to thank our iOS team, which spent more than a few sleepless weekends to get these changes to our users for the busiest holiday shopping days. Big thanks as well to the back-end team that powers our local and online results, the foundation of ShopSavvy’s brand promise to users.  Lastly, thanks to the guys at Apple who made an extra effort to get all the new features in V6 out this season.

I’m excited about what this new product page is today, but I’m thrilled about the direction it will take us in the coming months. Soon our users will be able to play a much larger role in contributing content for the shopping community as part of the ShopSavvy platform and see amazing new content they can’t get anywhere else but ShopSavvy.

The transformative change coming to shopping and local commerce is just beginning, and we’re glad to be a part of it. We want your feedback on the release, so feel free to toss me an email at John@ShopSavvy.com. Meanwhile, we hope you love the new product page as much as we do.

Happy holidays.
